San Franciscans sure know how to enjoy the long summer days where the produce is blossoming. If you’re in the area, don’t forget your picnic table and grill. The United States Bartenders Guild – together with the CUESA – sure know how to get the most out of the Ferry Building during this time.
At the Picnic on the Plaza event that will take place on July 27 at the Farmers Market, participants are invited to munch on watermelon, tomatoes, thick corn and more, while snacking on high quality cookout fare from San Francisco’s top restaurants. You’ll get three full-sized signature cocktails and some sample-size drinks. Get in the groove to the summer playlist, take part in foodie lawn games and vote for your favorite drink to win prizes! As the evening winds down and twilight descends, you’ll relax in the finale of a most-enjoyed city summer night and the best part? All proceeds from the event will support the very important work being done by CUESA’s sustainable agricultural work and the USBG’s development programs.
That is just one event. There is also the Summer bean tasting at Jack London Square is happening on Saturday at 11 am and on Friday there are two market to table demos: Paul Burzlaff, 31st Union at 10 30 am, followed by Joanne Weir, Copita Tequileria y Comida at 12pm.
Eventgoers should also be on the lookout for Bella Viva Orchards on Saturday July 23,which is offering flats of certified organic yellow peaches at half price at the Saturday Ferry Plaza Farmers Market. Drop off flats at the Veggie Valet and pick them up later for just $3 at the Golden Gateway Garage.
Clearly the above events are indicative of the fact that July in San Francisco lives the mantra: Summer is fun and the livin’ is easy.
