Tech Boom Too Far?

A restaurant in San Francisco is now using iPads as plates.  At Quince, one can now order ‘A Dog in a Search of Gold,’ which features truffle croquettes on top of an iPad that plays a movie of dogs hunting truffles.  Of course the iPad doesn’t actually touch the food (that would potentially break it) but the custom-made box is handcrafted naturally.

According to Michael Tusk, chef at the restaurant who has been living in San Francisco for more than two decades, he did this because he “wanted to combine a little bit of gastronomy with technology and a little bit of education.”

The educational aspect is the fact that it informs people that dogs are often used to find truffles!
