“Kitty” Takes on a Whole New Meaning in the Bay

catKitty – in this case spelt KitTea – as a play on words, opens today in San Francisco.  As its name suggests it is dedicated to two goals (in this order), cats, and tea. Using high quality tea from a small farm in Kyoto, Japan, the tea house features a place to sit and sip tea and drink snacks and consider adoption of the rescue cats living at Give Me Shelter.

A similar place opened last October in Oakland – the Cat Town Café and Adoption Center – and has been incredible successful, giving 184 cats a home so far, reducing the euthanasia rate by almost 50 percent.

Hopefully the same will happen with KitTea in San Francisco where Bay lovers can enjoy a Zen experience and hopefully leave with a furry friend.
