San Francisco Ski BusThis coming December, San Francisco residents will have a new way to get to the Lake Tahoe resorts as well as to meet fellow skiers; the Bay Area Ski Bus. The bus is operated by Recreation Connection, Inc., and runs a variety of trips; one-day, two-day, family, single and teen. The buses collect from 19 locations in the Bay Area, including Santa Clara, San Jose, Sacramento, Oakland, and 2 stops in San Francisco. It goes to Heavenly, Kirkwood, Sierra-at-Tahoe, Sugar Bowl, Squaw Valley, Alpine Meadows, Homewood and Northstar-at-Tahoe.

Prices vary depending on age and destination. One-day trip rates are around $75-$125, and the price includes the ride, breakfast, ski-lift tickets and snacks. Travel without the lift tickets is also available. Frequent passengers have the option to save money by getting a season pass, which is good for 20 Saturday trips, or 8-packs which are good for eight single-day trips throughout the season.
