New ‘Green Lantern’ Trailer Released in San Francisco

Following the unenthusiastic response of potential fans, Warner Bros and DC Comics have released a new extended trailer for “Green Lantern.” The four-minute clip was first shown at the WonderCon Comic convention in San Francisco last weekend.

In the teaser, the audience was introduced to the Green Lantern’s intergalactic law enforcement organization. The trailer also presented the ‘Lord of the Rings’-like tone of the film, as opposed to the traditional superhero theme. It is clear from the trailer that the film takes place mostly in outer space and on the Green Lantern Corp’s planet Oa.

The newest trailer subdued many of the fans, answering numerous questions and worries that erupted after the release of the first trailer. Warner Bros Marketing President Sue Knoll addressed the original response, saying:

“Part of the reason the response to the first trailer was lukewarm was that the big-scale sequences weren’t ready to show, and we suffered for it. We can’t afford to do that again.”

More people are now looking forward to the film’s first theatrical trailer, which will debut next month before Marvel’s Thor, and the movie itself will be released on June 17th.
Below is an abridged version of the new trailer:
