2010 Intel+ UC Berkeley Technology Entrepreneurship Challenge Press Event

Intel is hosting a press event in San Francisco. The attending media will be able to meet with the four finalist teams from the 2010 Intel+ UC Berkeley Technology Entrepreneurship Challenge, as well as with Sriram Viswanathan, the vice president of the Intel Architecture Group and the general manager of the WiMAX Program office. Andre Marquis, the executive director of the Lester Center for Entrepreneurship and Innovation at the Haas School of Business of UC Berkeley will also be present.

The event will be one hour long, and will contribute to the press’s understanding of Intel and UC Berkeley’s work in support of young entrepreneurs from around the world. The meeting will also highlight the innovative business plans from this year’s competition, which include solutions to various global problems such as renewable energy sources, early detection of breast cancer, online education ideas and more.

The challenge was founded in year 2005 as a means to encourage graduate-level scientists and engineers to share their ideas and plans for improving the world through technology. The first place winner will be named following the press release, and will be awarded $25,000 from the Intel Foundation.
