Kendall Hunter Joins the 49ers

This NFL season may be the start of something new for San Francisco and its 49ers.

49ers Gain New Running Back

Former Oklahoma State standout Kendall Hunter is coming to San Francisco to join the 49ers. Selected in the fourth round of the 2011 NFL Draft, the twice-named All American Cowboys running back is intended to bring a “change of pace” to the team’s offensive game.

Fourth Round?!

Hunter was widely expected to be taken in the second or third round during Day 2 of the draft. Some believe he was selected later due to his lack of height or his final time in the 40-yard dash at the NFL Combine. Despite these facts, the Texas native was known to be one of the top players on the draft board.

Just More Motivation

After he was chosen, Hunter stated that he was disappointed to fall into the fourth round. He added that he plans to use the experience as motivation.

“God has a plan for all of us,” Hunter said. “I’m happy with where I am at now, I’m going to take advantage of it.”

“I always have a chip on my soldier ever since I started playing the game,” he added. “People doubted me that I can’t do this or that, size and stuff like that. I play every game with a chip on my shoulder. I use it as motivation.”
