New Parking Garage to Open in South San Francisco

Leaders of southern San Francisco are relying on the new parking garage to attract more visitors to the financial heart of the city, and to help boost the local economy. The Miller Avenue garage cost $12 million, has five levels and 254 stalls, in addition to around 14,350 square feet of marketable space on the ground floor. The garage also features energy-efficient elements. The garage is expected to open in February.

The project has been under construction for over a year, and underway for much longer than that. “It’s been talked about by the City Council and downtown businesses for at least ten years- that we should have more parking because it is very limited,” Terry White, a public works director, stated.

The commercial space on the ground floor has enough room for four businesses, and a potential restaurant.
