“The Social Network” Receives Ten Best Picture Prizes

The-Social-Network“The Social Network” film added two more critics’ prizes to its record yesterday: the San Francisco Film Critics and the Toronto Film Critics Association, bringing the total to ten best picture prizes.

In San Francisco, “The Social Network” won the best picture, best adapted screenplay and best director awards. The film did even better in Toronto, winning best picture, best director, best screenplay, as well as acting wins for both Jesse Eisenberg and Armie Hammer.

Aside from “Network,” San Francisco chose Michelle Williams in “Blue Valentine” as best actress, and John Hawkes in “Winter’s Bone” as best supporting actor. In Toronto, “Uncle Boonmee Who Can Recall His Past Lives” was named best foreign language and runner-up for best picture.
