Target to Open in San Francisco

Mayor Gavin Newsom announced this past Tuesday that the final permits to begin building a Target store in January have been issued. The store will take up 85,000 square-feet, and will be part of an existing retail and entertainment complex as opposed to a stand-alone outlet.

The city believes that the new store will generate six hundred construction jobs, seven hundred permanent jobs and $15 million in economic benefits. The Westfield Metreon Center also plan s to triple the size of its food court as part of the renovation plan, and by doing so will create another three hundred employment opportunities.
