Train Nominated for AMAs

Train-2The San Franciscan band, Train, recently paid homage to its city of origin with its new album ‘Save Me, San Francisco’ and its hit single ‘Hey, Soul Sister.’ The success was a big surprise for the band, and couldn’t have come at a better time. After winning two Grammy awards for the song ‘Drops of Jupiter,’ Train’s career came to an almost complete stop. ‘Hey, Soul Sister’ literally went viral, and won the hearts of the entire nation.

Following the release of their newest gold-status album, however, Train was nominated ABC’s American Music Awards. Pat Monahan, the lead singer of Train, said in an email that “being nominated for two AMAs this year was a total surprise, and a welcomed one at that. Being able to perform this year with amazing artists will be another highlight to an already over-the-moon 2010.”

Although they did not win an award, the success of this album and the increase of fans are definitely good news for Monahan and the other band members Jimmy Stafford and Scott Underwood.
